The band Rush consists of members Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart. The band's history can be traced back over 40 years, however the current and definitive lineup of the group has been in place since 1974 when Neil Peart joined the group as the replacement for original drummer John Rutsey. The band Rush has had a major impact in music and they are often cited among rock and progressive musicians and a major influence.

Since the bands inception they have released 18 studio albums, eight live albums and numerous compilations and greatest hits collections. The band Rush has sold more then 25 million albums in the United States and over 40 million albums worldwide. They are ranked only behind the Beatles and Rolling Stones for the record of most Platinum and Gold records recieved.

Although the band Rush has enjoyed great success with fans worldwide, they seldomly recieve any mainstream coverage or recognition. Since 1998, the first year they were eligable, they have not been nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On June 25th, 2010 the band Rush recieved a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The band Rush released their latest album in 2007 entitled Snakes and Arrows. The release of this album was followed by an extensive tour and the release of the live album Snakes and Arrows Live which chronicled the tour.
