There are approximately one and a half thousand WordPress themes to download on the official WordPress site, for free, obviously. These themes are designed by authors who have artistic license to create what they think looks good. That does not mean to say that you will agree with them on what looks good, that is why there are so many themes from different authors to choose from. Some things to consider before choosing a theme are whether your theme is compatible with your version of WordPress. Some premium wordpress themes will require extra plugins whilst some simpler ones will not. Some have different formats, like two or three columns or just one major block of text. The theme may have a custom background feature, by which you may put upload your own image into the page design. Others will come with different widgets already installed, which can of course be edited at a later stage.
