Geddy Lee is the bass player, vocalist and keyboardist of the Canadian rock band Rush. He is widely known for his vitrosity on the bass guitar, and his singing voice, which is often described as "high pitched". Although Geddy Lee is known for this style of singing, it changed over time to a more low pitched style. Geddy Lee has been widely praised over the years as one of the greatest bass players of all time, and many other musicians often cite him as an influence.

Geddy Lee was born Gery Lee Weinrib in Toronto, Canada on July 29th of 1953. The nickname Geddy came about due to his mothers Polish accent, and mis-pronunciation of his first name Gary.

Geddy Lee joined the band Rush with Alex Lifeson and their original drummer John Rutsey in 1968. He has been with the group ever since.

Although most of Geddy Lee's output has been with the band Rush he has released one solo album, My Favorite Headache, which was released in November of 2000. He can most recently be heard on the albums, Snakes and Arrows and Snakes and Arrows Live.
