Neil Peart is the drummer and the primary lyricist for the band Rush. He has won many awards and honours for his skills as a drummer, and is recognized as one of the greatest drummers of all time, many drummers have cited him as a major influence. He is known for his "fill" heavy style of druming and his live drum solos, which are a staple of Rush concerts.

As well as being bands drummer, Neil Peart is also the primary lyricist for the group. Since his time joing the band Rush he has written the vast majority of the lyrics.

Neil Peart was born on September 12th in 1952 in Hagersville, Ontario.

Neil Peart joined the band Rush in 1974 when then current Rush drummer John Rutsey left the band.

Neil Peart can be heard most recently on Rush's 2007's Snakes and Arrows and 2008's live album Snakes and Arrows Live.
